Neckarwelle, Stuttgart

The idea of Neckarwelle was founded by an initiative of surfers from Stuttgart in summer 2015 as a facebook page. Due to the popularity of the project it took the 20th place of 3.457 project proposuals in the Bürgerhaushalt 2017 a local participation platform. Currently the project is in the phase oft a feasibility study.

In the last few years the riversurfing gained attractivity for waterathletes, especially for citys like Stuttgart, which are far away from oceans. Regulations of width and hight are producing the best conditions and the possibility to use the wave around 340 days a year for beginners and advanced.

The unique construction of the Neckarwelle is adapted to the environmental conditions. The approval and realization planning is set for 2019 an the building progress is set to be in 2020.
